Local area chairman recommends whistles as the first line of defence against community crime |
I was born in kigoowa and have lived here all my life. When the Northern bypass highway was constructed, we started experiencing a new wave of crime sprees that have earned the Kigoowa neighbourhood a bad reputation. Ever since I was elected chairperson, I have tried my very best to encourage the community to be vigilant and to look out for each other. We try to patrol the neighbourhood at night and we even distributed whistles to be used as alarms, but frankly, I am overwhelmed because we are understaffed and I can only cover a few black spots at a time.
